Ric Ramsey is currently the Founder/CEO of NEXUS Summer Programs. NEXUS provides college bound teens with on-campus academic and career development alongside immersive experiences in self-discovery including socio-emotional coping strategies, on leading college campuses throughout America.
Additionally, Ric has served as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of EducationWorks (EW), Philadelphia’s largest after-school program provider, serving nearly 15,000 k-12 students throughout 28 schools.
Prior to EW, Ric served as the Executive Director of City Year Philadelphia, where he managed a mix of staff and AmeriCorps volunteers totaling 300. This reading and math support program impacts nearly 12,000 students each year in Philadelphia.
Between 2002 and 2013, Ric served as President and CEO of the LEAD Program, a Philadelphia-based summer youth development program. LEAD Programs impacted nearly 4,000 students and expanded to 12 top business and engineering schools, including the Wharton School of Business in Philadelphia, and California Institute of Technology in Pasadena.
In 2008 Ric partnered with Oprah Winfrey to expand the LEAD Program to South Africa, where U.S. students worked alongside students attending the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy in Johannesburg, South African.
Ric has served on the Philadelphia Union League’s Youth Works Foundation, National Association of Securities Professional (NASP) Youth Foundation, World Bank Group – U.S. Minorities Diversity Council, and the Deloitte Diversity External Advisory Board.
A native of Denver, Colorado, Ric graduated from Hampton University in 1987 and received his MBA from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University in 1999.
